Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Daniel is a lean, athletic OF/LHP who will graduate in 2022. In the OF, he utilizes feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup and aggressive approach. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 64-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, plays hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Daniel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
