12/27/2023 - All-In National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Daniel is a 3B/OF who will graduate in 2024. At 3B he shows fluid footwork as he works from right to left. Has good body control at baseball and fields from an athletic fielding position. Has a low funnel with a quick transfer with a loose arm action. Made accurate throws to first base, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 80mph. In the OF good reads off bat enable him to run down balls in all directions. Works through the baseball with a clean gather off of his left foot. Made on-line throws into infield with good carry on baseball. A right-handed hitter he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a short glide step with a small hand load. Fluid timing to swing with fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit hard line drives to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph during BP. Daniel should have opportunities to play at the next level with continued development.

12/27/2022 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Daniel is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. At 3B, he works from right to left, with fluid feet, and showed ability to play through the ball. He works from down to up and fields from an athletic fielding position with soft hands out front. Has a loose arm stroke in back as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot forward with an arm velocity up to 87mph. He made accurate and on-line throws to first base. On the mound, he gets a good rear hip coil and keeps his front side closed throughout delivery. He works with good tempo and showed ability to repeat his delivery. Attacks hitters with a FB that sits 75-79mph with tailing action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he hits from an upright and square stance. He is centered at contact and has natural juice in his swing. Showed a short/direct barrel path as he hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 95mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
