Official Scouting Report

  • 2BPosition Projection

10/23/2021 - Fall Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS) Daniel is a 2B who will graduate in 2022. Athletic build with strength present and room to fill out. At 2B, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and active/efficient footwork. Fields from the ground up, with a low funnel, as he tries to center ball. Clean transfers into a 3/4 release point. Accurate/on-line throws recorded up to 76mph across the diamond. Could benefit from a structured throwing program to add arm strength. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an athletic stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Good bat angle at contact, with extension out front, and ability to hit line drives to all fields. Reached base multiple times and recorded 2 hits and a bat exit velocity of 78mph in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/26/2020 - College PREP - San Jose, CA Daniel is an OF/C prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the OF, Daniel shows active footwork and moves well to his glove side. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a square fielding position can help Daniel improve as an OF. Behind the plate, Daniel shows quick footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and tracks the ball into his glove. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. Daniel can improve as a C by receiving the ball more out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, driving to his pull side. Maintaining center balance throughout his swing can help Daniel improve as a hitter. Overall, Daniel is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
