Foot speed is average as he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet work direct in line with his target through a short arm stroke through the throwing process. Transfer / exchange are slow creating a long release. Pop times show a range of 2.28-2.57 with a means of 2.41 with throws showing accuracy as the will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry. Receiving and blocking skills are average, needing further development to be quality tools at the next level. Offensively, McDonnell shows a balanced approach and loads well with hands attacking the baseball. His bat speed is above average while his swing path is level. McDonnell shows a feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing with proper weight transfer. Daniel has abilities with room to improve.
