08/27/2017 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Daniel is a big, 2-way player who catches and plays 1B. Behind the dish, Daniel has active footwork, soft hands, and he centers the ball well. He stays low, uses his body to block, and throws with accuracy to 2nd base with pop times as low as 2.47. Work on blocking, quicker feet, and added arm strength will improve abilities behind the plate. At 1st base, Daniel makes plays, keeps the ball in front of his body, and his exchange is clean. He throws accurately to his target but will need to play more aggressively, lighten his footwork, and field further out in front of abilities at 1B to get better. At the plate, Daniel has a tall set-up, square stride, and strong/raw abilities. He has strength in his swing and makes solid contact on the barrel. If Daniel can loosen his grip, use more lower ½, and get his timing down, hitting can get better.
