01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Daniel continues to show as a solid MIF both offensively and defensively. Defensively, he has sure hands and he plays thru well to his target. Abilities will improve if he can get pre-pitch movements and become more aggressive. At the plate he swings from both sides. As a RHH, he is consistent and has a middle of the field approach. As a LHH, he stays balanced, he has on-time rhythm, and he creates extension thru contact. Daniel is a solid infielder and should get looks to play at the next level.

11/13/2011 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Midyett continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities and now shows as a solid player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 6.99. Feet are active / aggressive attacks ground balls and use 2 hands well. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double plays. He needs to play through balls more to improve defensive abilities. At the plate is where Daniel has improved the most, now showing well above average hitting abilities from both sides of the plate with outstanding power from the right side. Hands are quick / explosive, generating bat speed to and through the baseball. Swing path is short, direct as he shows a solid feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through his lower half.

11/07/2010 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Daniel is a young, lanky, switch-hitting, 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2012. Defensively, Daniel has soft / sure hands, quick / fluid feet, and he fields the ball in good rhythm. He is an athletic defender, he fields the ball cleanly, and he throws accurately with carry to his target. Daniel has natural instincts, and will only get better with added physical strength. Offensively, Daniel has a square set-up, proper stride, and good balance. He is equally as good of a hitter from both sides of the plate. He has a compact swing, direct hands to the ball, and has good bat speed. Daniel has a line drive approach and get good extension to and through the ball. Added physical strength from both sides of the plate will help spike offensive numbers. Selected as a First Team all district in district 1-5A for 2011 season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
