Daniel showed improvements in his overall game during his last workout in Kansas City. Behind the plate, Daniel showed a good set-up, soft / sure hands, and good body control. He has quiet actions, blocks and receives well, and his exchange is clean with carry to his target. Pop times improved as well to 2.15. Catching will continue to get better with a wider base, quicker lateral movements, and hiding his bare hand. Offensively, Daniel has a quiet head, an activated load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has direct hands to the ball, barrels it up well, and he uses all fields. More lower 1/2 and more extension through the ball will hitting get even better.

Daniel is a lanky catcher that will graduate in 2016. Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show a range of 2.30-2.50 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program, improve foot quickness, and work to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving / blocking skills that show as playable tools that will play well at the next level as he continues to improve. At the plate, O'Connor shows a balanced / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a short / compact swing path. He makes consistent contact with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. With 3 years to further develop, Daniel has abilities with time and room to improve.
