11/05/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays proper footwork but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate hitting / power potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently.

07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Daniel continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 2B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 43-46 mph with sinking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/30/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Charlottesville, VA Daniel is a 2B/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Defensively at 2B, he takes active routes as he tries to work around the GB. He sees the ball into his glove and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes locked in on the mitt. He delivers from an over the top arm slot and works in line towards home plate. With the bat, Daniel displays smooth rhythm to load. He stays balanced through contact as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quick exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Throw more strikes
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Short, compact swing
2. Improve bat speed/hands
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
