01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Daniel continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon of arm (84 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 1.89. Offensively, he continues to shine through a squared setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel accuracy (86 mph exit velocity) through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Daniel is a talented C/3B that will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish Daniel shows athletic actions with a quiet glove. In his secondary he gains ground with clean exchanges getting rid of the ball with a short arm action and throws that carry with life. His blocking footwork is on time with good spine angle and quick feet. At the plate Daniel sets up in square stance with high and loose hands. His load is small and square getting his foot down on time. His bat gets on plane with a fast bat speed making consistently hard contact especially to the pull side. Daniel shows that he knows how to play the game and leads by example. He shows that he has a lot of potential behind the plate and will be a watch for the next few years.

04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Daniel is a tall, athletic, 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Daniel has active feet, firm hands, and he centers the ball well. He has quiet actions, blocks and receives well, and has a quick release with pop times as low as 2.25 seconds to 2nd base. At 3B, Daniel has good range, he covers ground, and his hands play well. He fields cleanly, has a clean exchange, and throws with some accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Daniel has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and he makes hard contact gap to gap. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
