10/21/2018 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Daniel continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power is best shown to the pull side. At 1B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. In the OF, he take proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.

10/10/2018 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Daniel continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry to his target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying tremendous power through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through a short/direct swing path as he stays inside the ball utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be. He is a gamer on the diamond.

06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Daniel is a talented 1B/OF prospect who has a tall, projectable build. As a right-handed hitter, Daniel has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has a load with an on-time stride. Daniel shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path getting good extension at contact. He lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. Daniel tracks the ball well and swings with authority. He has above average power to all fields. In the field, Daniel plays with firm footwork and makes the routine plays. He fields the ball in a square position with firm hands. Daniel has effective footwork around the bag. He plays through the baseball with good momentum towards his target. Daniel throws from an over the top arm slot with a long arm action showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. Overall, Daniel is a coachable prospect who effectively uses his strength giving him high upside on the diamond.

02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Daniel is a hard-working and talented prospect that made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Daniel starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has a middle approach and drives the ball with power to all fields. He gets good extension through contact and attacks the ball with the lower half. Continuing to loosen his grip and create separation in his load will allow him to be on time more consistently. Daniel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/09/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training HS- Columbia, MD Daniel is a coachable hitter who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and comes through the zone with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with explosive bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap power. Daniel can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Daniel is a talented hitter who has the skills at the plate that will translate well to the next level.

10/22/2017 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Prevost continues to make strides in his game. With the bat, this strong righty shows an athletic stance with rhythm in his hands. He takes a hack and barrels the ball up with some pop to his pull side (exit velocity = 86 mph). At 1B, he moves with active footwork and works his ways into a square fielding position. He works low, from the ground-up and tracks GB's into his mitt. In the OF, Daniel hustles to his right and left to track down fly-balls. He secures that ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. Working through the ball while quickening his transfer will help him to develop in the OF. This 2019 grad is a hard worker who can make things happen at the plate.

04/02/2017 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through balls with his body. Hands are clean and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a balanced/squared setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Changeup shows arm side run but slows arm/body tipping off his pitch to hitters. He throws a knuckleball that is in the developmental stage. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

04/10/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD This tall (6'1"/195) 1B can swing the bat with some power. Offensively, he stands in well with centered balance and quiet/simple actions. He whips the barrel through the zone quickly, squares the ball up and drives it with pop (exit velocity = 83 mph). Even more power potential is there as he works to use more of his lower 1/2. At 1B, Daniel hustles around the GB and into a square fielding position. He secures the ball and gathers well. Continuing to develop his footwork & agility will help him to move around the 1B bag as well as increase his lateral range in the INF. Only a 2019 grad - Daniel has upside as he continues to progress.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Daniel is a 2019 1B/RHP with a big frame at 6'2/195 lbs. Offensively, he hits from a square stance and generates some bat speed, getting the barrel through the zone with loose actions. He has present strength at contact and when he worked in drills on rhythm, really started to become more consistent. Defensively at 1B, he was a big target, making plays and receiving from other infielders with some feel. Quickening his feet and becoming more flexible to get the glove further in front is key to progression. On the mound, he threw his FB from 64-66, spun a CB from 53-55, and showed a CH with tail from 48-54. He kept hitters off-balance by mixing pitches and velocities and kept his eyes on the target. All in all - Daniel is a young ball player that has time on his side to continue grooming his game and honing his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
