Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

10/12/2014 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Daniel continues to show as a OF/RHP but currently projects best in the OF for next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed his improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.43 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are nowsolid, displaying clean / smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Throws display life, carry, and accuracy through his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power grades, now showing well above average through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed arm speed on changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Pirate City Daniel showed best offensively in his most recent Baseball Factory event. With the stick, he generated good bat speed from a direct barrel and strong launch. He utilizes the entire field and has good feel in the box. Defensively, he got good jumps, took good routes and was aware of situations. Further physical development and continued reps will increase his game play. On the bump, he threw his fastball in the zone, and stayed direction to the dish. Overall - Pritchett is an attentive ball player that listens and respects his coaches and teammates.

10/13/2013 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Daniel is a 2-way player as an OF/LHP. Defensively in the OF, he works to get back behind the fly-ball. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws toward his target. Working on his first step quickness will help defensive abilities to improve. As a hitter, Pritchett has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He gets good lead arm extension and keeps his eyes on the target. FB tops out at 69 mph while CB shows downward tilt and gradual break. Getting on a long-toss program will help to increase arm strength and improve mound effectiveness. As only a 2016 grad, Daniel has a lot of time to improve and develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
