10/13/2019 - College PREP - Springfield, MA Daniel is a tall LHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Daniel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Daniel shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 58-60mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 65-66mph with late arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Daniel improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact. Daniel can improve as a hitter by maintaining center balance. Overall, Daniel is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
