07/14/2009 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Danny is a young SS with an athletic body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Foot speed is solid average and he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and aggressive in coming to get and playing through the baseball with his feet and hands. Glove action is soft, clean, and sure in making all the plays. Tools are more suited for 2B at the next level. Arm strength is near above average displaying life, carry, and accuracy on throws. He will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry. At the plate, Rowton has near above average abilities and power through an aggressive approach. He loads well and shows a solid feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat. Bat speed is present through a level swing path. With 2 years to further develop, Danny has a ton of potential and the makings to be a solid player at the collegiate level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
