12/11/2016 - College PREP - Nyack (NYC), NY Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he only showed as a RHH and has improved his abilities. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to his pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Feet are aggressive but will benefit by playing through balls more with his body. Hands are soft / clean as he presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/13/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Madison (NYC), NJ Daniel continues to work hard on his skills. With the bat, he stands in well with an athletic setup and centered balance. He has rhythm in his hands and swings the barrel on a level path. Utilizing more of his lower 1/2 will help to generate more pop off of the barrel. At SS, Santana hustles around the GB and into a square fielding position. He funnels smoothly and has a quick exchange to throw. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will help his development on the left side of the INF. Daniel still has a ton of time to develop his skills as well as to physically mature.

07/14/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Daniel is a young, athletic SS that will graduate in 2019. In the MIF, feet are active and quick as he moves well laterally, flashing range. Hands are clean and he works to square balls up as he makes the routine plays. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he presents hand more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup with good tempo. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball as he utilizes all fields through a solid line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 6. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Daniel has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
