Daniel is a well balanced 2-way player that plays 3B and Pitches. In the field, he is light on his feet, takes good angles to the baseball, and fields it out in front of his body. His fielding has potential, and can improve if he can form a more solid base when he throws, and throw on a more flat plane, rather than uphill. On the mound, Daniel has a good rhythm and tempo and throws strikes. His CB has a good, tight spin and he is able to consistently repeat his delivery. His velocity could improve if he can work to drive off the rubber, and stay tall at the balance point. Working on a CH is also recommended. Daniel shows life at the plate with a balanced approach, a proper load, and good barrel accuracy.
06/13/2009 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1
Daniel continues to show steady improvement in his baseball abilities. He showed on the mound at the event, but projects only at 3B for the next level. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid average runner at 7.25. He utilizes his feet well in the infield in coming to get the baseball with his feet and hands. He is a 2 handed fielder that plays with a lot of energy. At the plate, Schloemer showed a solid set up and approached displaying good plate coverage. Hands are quick and direct to the baseball, generating bat speed. He was 1 for 6 with a 1B at the event.

Daniel is a 3B with a small, thin body that does show projection as it continues to physically mature and add muscle mass. Foot speed is below average and does need to get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He does utilize his feet well in coming to get and playing through ground balls hit right at him. He shows good preps with a low approach, centering the baseball. Lateral movement and range will increase as foot speed does. Defensive abilities are near above average. Arm strength is slightly average and does need to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further building more arm strength and carry on throws. At the plate, Schloemer has solid average abilities with slightly average power. Hands are quick and direct to the baseball, generating bat speed. He shows a quiet approach, making consistent contact with a feel for the barrel. Swing path does get long creating a pull type swing. Power numbers should increase as more overall body strength is developed. Daniel has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
