09/27/2015 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Daniel continues to shine on the diamond. This hard worker has improved in several areas of his game. Offensively, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. Hands are quick as he takes an aggressive hack with bat speed through a level path. He barrels the ball up and sprays it with pop to all parts of the field. Behind the dish, Daniel has an athletic setup with quiet actions. Transfer/exchange is smooth as he gains ground toward 2B putting throws on the bag (pop times of 2.21). In the OF, he has quick footwork and tracks down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and fires strong/accurate throws into his target. Daniel is a versatile player who can make things happen in many aspects of the game. He has a bright future and will play at a high level.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Daniel is hard worker who has a high baseball IQ. Offensively, Daniel displays an open/balanced setup with a solid base. Swing path is level to and through the zone displaying plus barrel accuracy. He utilizes/engages his lower 1/2 well driving the ball with pop to all fields. Daniel is aggressive and hustles down the line, thinking 2B out of the box. Behind the plate, Daniel presents a low/soft target while offering a quiet glove receiving. On throws down to 2B, he replaces well and gains ground while delivering the ball accurately. Daniel has a willingness to improve and has a coachable makeup.

08/30/2014 - 2014 Kelly Kulina Classic Participant Solid frame behind the plate, quiet and receives well, showed strong accurate arm

07/28/2014 - College PREP - Gaffney, SC Daniel is a skilled 2-way player (C/3B) who has a solid build. Behind the dish, he sits in well with flexion and tracks the ball into his mitt. He gains ground toward 2B on throws and puts the ball on the bag (pop times of 2.05). At 3B, he shows active prep footwork and moves into an athletic fielding position. He shows plus lateral movements, makes the plays and squares up his shoulder to throw. At the plate this RHH shows a well balanced approach with a strong base. He is aggressive and is looking to take a hack once he steps into the box. He utilizes his lower 1/2 well to generate pop off of the barrel. Only a 2016 grad - Daniel should make an impact over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
