01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Daniel continues to shine behind the plate. This well built 2018 Catcher is a pitcher's dream. A nice quiet, low setup he tracks the ball well and works his glove well to receive pitches very well, earning strikes for his pitchers. Centers up ball well in the dirt, is an advanced blocker. Does equally as well at the plate. Quick hands and very fast bat speed create some nice pop off his barrel (85mph exit velocity), and he uses all fields to drive the baseball. Will be a high batting average hitter at the catching position and will excel into the next level behind the dish.

07/26/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Daniel is a highly talented catching prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Daniel has an athletic stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square, on-time stride. Daniel shows fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He gets good whip and stays loose through his swing producing consistent contact. Daniel is a confident line drive type hitter and the ball jumps off his barrel. Behind the plate, Daniel has an effective setup and moves with agile actions. He presents a low target and receives the ball with soft hands. He does a nice job moving in each direction laterally while maintaining a soft chest centering everything. He has a short arm action throwing with good momentum through his release. His throws are consistently online down to 2B with POP times ranging from a 1.98-2.22 seconds. Overall, Daniel has an above average talent on both sides of the ball giving him high potential to be a difference maker the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
