02/08/2009 - College PREP - Houston, TX Daniel is a LHP with a tall, athletic frame that is well suited for the position and shows projection as it continues to physically mature. Delivery is solid showing in line direction, on time separation, and deception. Command and control is a plus as he is around the plate with all his pitches. Arm strength is slightly above average and needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength and raise velocities. Fastball shows arm side run with a lot of movement. Breaking ball is his best off speed pitch displaying a 1/7 shape with tight spin. Slider is slightly above average with a tight 10/4 shape that resembles a cutter. Changeup is average as he changes his arm slot and needs further development to be an effective pitch at the next level. If arm strength continues to develop, Stumpf stock on the mound will rise quickly. He has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
