01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Daniel is a lean, athletic LHP/1B who will graduate in 2022 and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate he shows outstanding hitting abilities with well above power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, (86 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range is a plus (7.03 60 time) as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (84 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, this lefty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 80-83 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late sharp break and is his out pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Daniel has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
