07/29/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Daniel enters his final HS season with a solid idea on the diamond. Defensively, he makes the routine play look easy with quick routes and a clean exchange/throw. Developing quicker actions with improvement in his foot speed will increase his range and SS abilities. Offensively, he has a great plate discipline, swinging only at strikes. He drives the ball to all fields and hits with a strong backside. As he gets more reps and works on keeping his front side locked in, he will see his swing path improve. Overall, Dan continues to work hard and show improvements in his game.

06/25/2015 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed. He has a level swing path that allows him to create good extension. He has leverage in his swing and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields and displaying gap to gap pop with ball jumping off the bat when centered. At SS, defensive grades have improved as well as he shows solid body control and works to square up, presenting sure hands. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Daniel has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

06/01/2014 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL This SS continues to show a solid all-around skill-set. Defensively, he shows plus range to his glove side fielding the ball with sure hands. He gathers well, gets his shoulders in-line and gains ground toward his target. With the bat, this RHH delivers the barrel on a short/direct path as he connects and drives the ball on a line. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power at the plate. A 2016 grad - Daniel still have time to develop his skills.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Youngblood continues to show as a MIF and has steady play in his baseball abilities. Feet are quick / active as he works to square balls up and displays soft / clean hands. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack ground balls more, play through and present hands more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He sees the ball well and lets it travel well. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to increase bat speed and work to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Getting more game experience to recognize certain pitch counts and an understanding of the strike zone will help as well. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.

07/07/2013 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Daniel is a young SS that will graduate in 2016. Offensively, he has good balance and uses the entire field with a line-drive approach. Staying short to the ball will enable faster bat speed and subsequent power. Defensively, he makes plays with active feet and sure hands. Fielding the ball more to the left of his body will help to ensure ball security in the glove. In all, Youngblood is an athletic young player that projects with some more fundamental work.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
