06/19/2015 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Danny showed exceptionally well at the USA Baseball 17U Championships with Baseball Factory. On the hill, he ran his heavy and deceptive fastball from 86-90, spun a late breaking 11/5 CB from 74-76, and threw a tailing CH from 76-82. His mechanics are sound and he had phenomenal feel to pitch with confidence and aggression, attacking hitters. He works fast with his tempo and his arm works very quickly with front side extension. In all - Danny is a very intriguing player that has another two years of high school ball to boost consistency and becoming even more powerful. The improvement he has shown in the last couple of years is remarkable. He is unquestionably a player to watch moving forward and we are excited to see where his talent takes him.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This righty has an electric arm with 3 effective pitches to rely on. He can paint the corners and challenges hitters. FB has late run as it jumps out of his hand lighting up the radar gun at 90 mph. He gets out over his front side finishing with extension. Off-speed compliment FB well as he mixes well. Danny (2017 grad) has a very very bright future in the game and has one of the highest raw velocities that we have seen among the 2017 class. ***He was highlighted as a standout player during this event and written up on our website with the following: Boehmer was consistently around the plate with 83-89 fastball. Had arm side run, touched 90 once. Spun some mid 70's with depth as his outing went on, and also showed a mid 70's change. Sound delivery, loose and clean arm stroke.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Danny is a very promising prospect on the mound. Danny has a good mound presence and has a well above average fastball that was 84-89 that he threw for strikes, consistently. He throws a hard, tight 12/6 curveball, and mixes in a change up. He gets to a good balance point and has good direction to the plate and is able to repeat his mechanics. In the OF, Danny has aggressive feet, good speed and athleticism and a well above average arm. At the plate, he has a square/balanced setup, good rhythm and a level bat path. His power will increase as he learns to maximize his lower ½. Overall, with 3 more years to continue to improve, Danny has a bright future ahead of him

12/14/2014 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Danny continues to impress. This RHP repeats his delivery and paints both sides of the dish. FB cracks the mitt at 89 mph while showing downward movement and sink. Breaking ball has sharp/late break which has 'nasty' action. He pounds the zone and mixes well, keeping hitters guessing. He finishes out over his front side getting great extension. Danny will continue to physically mature which will add effectiveness. A very talented prospect - this RHP has a high ceiling; he will compete and catch the eyes of coaches with his electric stuff on the mound.

06/21/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 As a rising sophomore, Danny showed sound ability at the Omaha National World Series. Defensively, he had good pre-pitch footwork and made plays out in front. He was quick with his feet, had good body control to get to the ball, and threw with loose arm action and life. He filled in in the outfield as well, making plays with good foot speed. Offensively, he generated bat speed with decent hands and ran well down the line. Simplifying his approach and mechanics will enable better barrel control and hit ability. On the hill, he threw three pitches from the high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball topped out at 83 MPH, his 11/5 CB at 68-71, and his CH (with tail) at 70-73. He did a nice job of gathering over the rubber and was free and loose with his arm action, but has more strength with his lower half as he tends to rush from the stretch. In all - Danny is an athletic (6.91 60 yard dash and 85 mph top arm strength) and promising 2017 grad with a good GPA. He should be a good addition to a college program as he shows plenty of projectability. ***Addition: Though not at one of our events, Danny was clocked at the Blue Chip Prospects Showcase in NJ at 87-88 mph on 7/31/14.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Danny showed hard work, good listening skills, and solid actions both on the mound and at 3B during Pirate City. On the hill, Danny pitches to contact, he generates a lot of ground balls, and he throws strikes. He has a free arm action and creates some sink action on his pitches. Only a freshman now, his fastball already tops out at 81 mph. Working to get to a more consistent balance point (especially out of the stretch), and strengthening his lower half to help with his delivery are a couple of areas he can work on. At 3B, Danny takes good angles to the ball, he makes plays consistently, and he plays through with accuracy to his target. Working on his backhand and staying lower to the ground throughout the fielding process should be a focus for his development. Offensively, Danny has a good idea with his approach, his hands are quick, and he extends well through the ball. He has a good top hand and can hit the other way, but he needs to work on hitting through the ball more level (as opposed to getting under it), and on shortening his swing. Danny will be a player to watch these next few years!

12/15/2013 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Danny is a talented player as a RHP/3B. On the mound, this RHP has a 4-pitch arsenal coming from a loose arm-action. FB tops out at 81 mph while showing some arm-side run. He gets to a tall balance point, has a repeatable delivery and works in-line toward the dish. CB shows 11/5 shape while CH has arm-side run and sink. Cutter is best pitch and will get outs. He has more in the tank with more lower 1/2 drive. Defensively, Boehmer shows good prep and works to get into a square fielding position. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Presenting his glove out in front will help to avoid getting the in-between hop. As a hitter, Danny shows a closed stance with a solid base. He gets back into a loaded position and swings on a level path, squaring the ball up. Increasing his bat speed will result in more pop off of his barrel. Danny is only a freshman and still has a lot of time to develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
