06/16/2017 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Danny is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the USA Baseball 17U Championships. At 1B, Danny fields the ball well in front of his body. He shows a clean exchange to throw from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He gets into his load well and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed which leads to gap to gap power. On the mound, Danny has a clean delivery and attacks the strike zone. He shows a three pitch mix. Breaking ball ranges from 56-60mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 69-71mph with good tailing action as he throws with fastball arm speed. Overall, Danny is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Danny continues to impress and did so again during his time at Pirate City. On the bump, this 6'4 RHP uses his frame to work to a tall balance point, he has smooth separation and fires from a quick arm action. He maintains quick tempo, not allowing hitters to get settled. FB jumps out of his hand with cut and cracks the mitt topping out at 87 mph. Slider has 11/5 shape with sharp action, proving to be a solid swing and miss pitch. He pounds the zone and challenges hitters. Changeup shows good tail as he throws it with FB arm speed, helping to create deception. At 1B, Danny puts his athleticism on display. He has active footwork and moves well laterally into an athletic fielding position. With the bat, this RHH has a square/tall setup with a solid base. He gets loaded, whips the barrel through the zone and connects with some pop. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the entire field. McNally has a ton of upside and is a player who will garner looks thanks to his ability on the bump.

08/28/2016 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Danny is a RHP graduating in 2018 with a projectable frame. He throws from a high 3/4 slot with loose arm action displaying great command and works with great rhythm and pace. Danny is on time throughout his delivery doing a great job of using his lower 1/2, rotating towards his target. Danny's FB is 80-81 MPH and his 11-5 curveball showed late break at 60-62 MPH. He also works with a deceptive change-up thrown with his FB arm speed. At the plate, Danny has a square setup with a short stride and on time load. He has good bat speed coupled with quick hands to produce hard contact to both gaps. Danny's simple approach allows him to showcase his athleticism and continue to improve his baseball skills as a viable prospect for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
