12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Dante is a 2025 1B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At 1B, he starts on the balls of his feet and has good initial instincts. He fields from a low position and has firm hands. He throws from a low ¾ arm slot with accurate throws around the infield. At the plate, he has an open stance and a loose hands. Dante has a line drive approach and had a 78 top exit velocity. On the mound, he showcased a 3-pitch mix. His fastball had good sink and sat 73-75 mph and he was able to throw his curveball for a strike consistently at 62-63 mph. He has good mound presence and had good direction to home plate. During the game, he had a hit and a pair of walks. With another year of development before his senior year, we foresee great things coming for Dante.

09/04/2023 - National Showcase - Fresno, CA Dante is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame lean build with some strength present. At 1B he starts with quick feet and works to center the baseball. Creates good angles with good glove actions and fields from a low fielding position. Made on-line throws to second base from a low 3/4 arm slot. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, he has a projectible frame with long levers. He gets a good rear hip coil and separates his hands on-time. He gets his chest to his glove and lands square to his target. Throws a FB that sits 66-71mph with some tailing action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup that he throws for strikes. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate he hits from an upright and open stance. Starts with a short glide step, with activated hands, and rotates his lower half to the contact point. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Dante making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

06/11/2023 - National Showcase - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Dante is a lanky 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Dante has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
