01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Darian shined once again at the event in Pirate City. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to continue to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 2 for 2 with 2 BB as he displays a patient approach at the plate.

12/15/2018 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18) Darian is a coachable OF/2B prospect who worked hard during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He rotates his core and works to barrel up the baseball. Loosening his grip on the bat can help Darian improve as a hitter. Overall, Darian is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
