04/15/2012 - National Tryout - North Richland Hills (DFW), TX Darrion showed well both at the plate and in the OF during his last workout in TX. He is a switch hitter who is equally as good from both sides of the plate. He has an open / athletic stance, a short / square stride, and okay bat speed. He swings on a level plane, he has a good bat angle, and a direct barrel to the ball. In the OF, Darrion has quick / active feet, soft / sure hands, and he works behind the ball well. He takes good angles, looks the ball in, and throws with accuracy and carry to his target.

12/27/2011 - Under Armour Recruiting Classic - 2011 Scott is a fast and well-built outfielder. In the outfield, he stays behind the ball and works through the play well. His defensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to really gather himself before delivering the ball to the infield. At the plate, he has the approach of a lead-off man with a simple compact swing. His offensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to eliminate his slight barrel wrap in order to be more direct to contact. With two more years of high school baseball remaining, Scott has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
