Official Scouting Report

  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

08/04/2019 - College PREP - Gillette, WY Darryk is a tall and lean SS/RHP that will graduate in 2023. On the mound Darryk shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. On the rubber he separates on time as he strides with a controlled landing. His hips rotate well keeping his eyes direct to the target. Learning to use his lower half better will increase his velocity. At SS Darryk shows active footwork with good range to the glove side. He fields the ball athletically with firm hands making clean exchanges. His throws are accurate with a quick release and online to the target. At the plate Darryk sets up in a tall stance and works hard to get the barrel on plane with the pitch. He shows good oppo technique and rotating his hips to contact. Darryk has a large frame that he will continue to grow into and shows a lot of upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
