06/19/2008 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - 2008 Russo jumped his top end fastball velocity up nine mph since we last saw him, up from 75 to 84 mph. His breaking ball velocity jumped as well, up from 58 to 65. In fact, his changeup velocity (70-74) this outing was about the same as his fastball velocity was in the fall of 2007 - an incredible jump in less than a year. His delivery was athletic and fluid, and his arm worked well. He showed good feel for his three pitch mix, and did a good job of fielding his position. All in all, he is now a solid pitching prospect. Ran 7.32 in the 60-yard dash, and showed some power to the pull side at the plate. Still has potential as a position player, but appears to now have more on the mound.
