01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament David is a MIF who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball gap-to-gap pop (exit velocity = 80 mph). At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (86 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. A projectable MIF - he will play at a high level and make an impact.

09/02/2018 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA David continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip across the diamond. David has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One David continues to show shine on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program and building more arm strength with aid in further development on the mound.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) David is a wiry, lean SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry to his target. At the plate he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has a good load with rhythm and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 2 years to further develop, David has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
