05/19/2024 - National Showcase - Tampa, FL David is an athletic 5 ft 9/185 C in the 2025 class. He recently impressed scouts with his performance and they feel his best baseball is still in front of him. Behind the plate, he fluid movements and is very agile. Gains a low stance and extends through the ball with his glove actions. Has strong hands and can maintain the strike zone. His exchanges are clean and redirects with a high and loose 3 qtr slot. Ball is on the bag at 2.08 (87 velo). Moves his feet well to block, creates a solid spine angle and is quick to recover. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and uses a short stride for a clean and simple approach. Creates a strong load phase and weight is inside his feet. Once he recognizes his pitch, he is aggressive by allowing his backside to get through and get his barrel on-plane quickly (87 exit velo). Generates hard contact for line drive power. Overall, David is a must watch prospect in the 2025 class and scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
