02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Fremont (San Jose), CA David is a 6ft. 155 lb. OF in the 2025 class. He continues to impress scouts and feel he has made advancements to his game since we last saw him at the Recruiting Classic. In the field, he continues to show topflight defensive abilities. His arm is a weapon that can prevent runners from taking the extra base, registered 88 velo and is spot on to the targets. He moves gracefully and demonstrates closing speed (7.10 runner). He has an athletic feel in his set-up, ball pursuit and fielding position. Working to open his hips more on balls hit directly over his head will be a key point for him as he advances to higher levels. At the plate, he stays compact and uses a short stride to maintain balance. Gains excellent separation and creates hard line drive contact. Hands are quick at 83 exit velo and establishes a strong finish. Overall, David is a next level talent.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic David is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, David shows quick footwork and gets into a low position. He fields the ball out in front and has a quick exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate with carry through his target. Beating fly balls to their spot can help David make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and extends through his swing well, spraying the ball to all fields. David can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, David gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. David operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 11-5 break. Long tossing can help David build up his arm strength. Overall, David is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/24/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - San Jose, CA David is a tall, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 71-74 mph with tailing action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, David has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
