03/30/2008 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA David is a tall athletic looking pitcher. On the mound, he shows good command with a deceiving arm slot. Gets arm into throwing position well. Right now, CB is his best pitch. He must work on staying closed with the front shoulder longer. This will help create torque during the rotation period and release. With some instruction, David has the potential to improve and frustrate hitters. Swing is quick with good use of the lower half. Everything is balanced at the plate.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
