12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) David continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.30 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone but will benefit by presenting a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/05/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Dublin (Columbus), OH David is a young 2-way player with a strong frame. Behind the plate, David has active feet, a good base, and he catches in rhythm. He sticks it well, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and throws with accuracy and strength to his target. On the mound, David has a repeatable delivery, he keeps his eyes on target, and has a controlled landing toward home; competing in the zone. At the plate, David is a strong hitter with a square set-up, he load well, and uses his lower body. He swings on plane and has pop in his bat. David can improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
