01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament David is a powerful backstop with a tremendous future on the diamond. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. Pop times are in the low 1.97 range with accuracy and on line zip (91 mph velocity) through his target. At the plate, he has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (94 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Parker continues to show as a catcher with steady play in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he has an athletic setup with quick hands that work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat, mainly pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he gets better extension and finish to his swing. Staying short will also help to generate more bat speed. Defensively, his receiving / blocking skills continue to show as above average for his age. He has good body control and sure hands. Working on footwork on throws and getting rid of the ball quicker will help his arm improve. David's mental makeup is a plus as he is a good team leader, very coachable, and works hard. He has a lot of potential and we have liked how he has progressed so far each time we have seen him.

03/12/2015 - Yankees Spring Training Experience David is a talented player who put his skills on display at Yankee Spring Training. Behind the dish, he displays athletic actions with good flexion in his setup. He tracks the ball into his mitt and sticks pitches in the zone. Exchange is clean as he gets rid of the ball accurately to 2B (pop times at 2.45). With the bat, this RH swinger steps into the box with a purpose. He is aggressive and is looking to swing it. Swing path is level as he connects and hits line-drives with some pop off of his barrel. Working to take the pitch on the outer 1/2 the other way will help to develop his offensive skill-set. David brings his all to the field every day. He is a skilled, hard working payer who has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

02/15/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Sanford (Orlando), FL David is a (2020) 2-way player as a C/3B who has a projectable frame (5'2"/145). With the bat, this RHH shows an open stance with a solid base. He has rhythm to load and works back, waiting for his pitch. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and will pull it with pop. Behind the dish, he sits in well and looks pitches into his mitt. He is quick around pitches thrown in the dirt and uses his body well, centering balls off of his chest. At the hot corner, David works low from the ground-up. He picks out the hops, gathers well, and has a clean exchange to throw. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Shorter/more direct swing path
2. Contact points
Catching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Transfer/exchange
Infield
1. Footwork to throw
2. Glove presentation
3. Play through ball

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
