10/14/2018 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL
David is an athletic and strong 2020 1B prospect. At 1B, David is on time with his prep step, anticipates the ball off the bat, and presents a l ow/early glove. He fields the ball in front of his body and works off the bag well. At the plate, David starts in a tall and open stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position, he creates backside rotation with his lower half, and drives the ball gap to gap. David will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
08/14/2018 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
David is a big, strong, 1st baseman with solid offensive skills. He stands in the box with an open stance, good balance, and has a short/square stride. David has an aggressive swing, fast bat speed, and he swings on plane. He makes consistent contact, gap to gap, and he uses his lower body. Improved timing and more extension will help hitting numbers spike. David was not able to work out defensively due to weather.

Tool Grade Scale
Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
