06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18)
David continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will continue to increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action and show potential as being a quality pitch. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
04/30/2017 - College PREP - Fort Myers, FL
David is an interesting SS/RHP prospect. As a SS, David has active pre pitch movement, shows the ability to go side to side, has a quick exchange, and displays arm strength from the 5-6 hole. If he continues to present a low/early glove, stay in control of his body while making the play on the run, and following through on his throws, he will increase his skills up the middle. As a hitter, David gets his hands back, shows the ability to hit line drives, and tracks the ball well. If he continues to keep his head down at contact, drive his backside into the ball, and stay connected at contact, he will be a more consistent hitter. On the bump, David has good rhythm in his hands, stays balanced over the rubber, arm stroke is on time, and drives his back leg toward the plate. Keeping his eyes on his target throughout his delivery, and having a slower tempo in his delivery will allow him to be more consistent down in the zone.
12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1
David is a very coachable and hard working player who made improvements during his time at Pirate City. As a hitter, this righty stands in with a balanced/athletic setup. He waits for his pitch and takes aggressive hacks. He puts the barrel on the ball consistently showing to be a solid top of the line-up threat (2 singles and a triple). In the MIF, David has active pre-pitch footwork moving lightly on the balls of his feet. He has good range, tracks the GB into a soft mitt and has a clean transfer to throw. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will help him to take that next step on the left side of the INF. David showed his versatility as he was able to get on the mound and pound the zone with strikes. Only a 2019 grad - Rowe has tools with upside as he continues to develop.
05/08/2016 - College PREP - Tampa, FL
David is a lean SS who will graduate in 2019. In the IF, feet are active and as makes the routine plays and displays clean hands. He works to get rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the in between hop. Continuing to increase foot quickness will aid in improving range. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, David has abilities with time and room to improve.
