01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament David is a balanced 2018 Shortstop prospect. A good athlete, he moves well (6.9s 60 yd dash), has quick agile feet and plus range. Fields the ball cleanly out in front, works through the ball and gets it on its way to his target very quickly. A good feel for his backhand and he showcased as a complete SS. Has an advanced middle away approach at the plate, attacking the inside of the baseball. Extends through contact well with loose, fast hands enabling him to drive the ball to all fields. Looking forward to his next step into college baseball.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament David is a talented SS prospect who has a well-rounded skill set on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, David has an athletic setup with a firm front side and centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. David has fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path producing consistent contact. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, David plays with active footwork and agile actions giving him good range. He fields it in a low position with soft hands and a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through his release and gets rid of it quickly. His throws are online with good strength. Overall, David has a bright future on the diamond with above average offensive and defensive skills.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament David is a young 2018 grad with a bright future. He is a smooth, athletic defender with natural rhythm in the infield. He fields from the right and has a quick, clean glove-to-hand transfer into his throw. He also does a nice job on both double play feeds and turns. As a hitter David has a quiet head and a line drive path. He uses the middle of the field well and has some feel for the strike zone. Look for David to continue to improve as he matures physically.

09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic David continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 7.00. He utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF and is not afraid to get dirty, laying out for balls. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he presents glove well out front. Actions are aggressive as he attacks balls and shows off athletic abilities on slow roller play. At the plate, he shows an aggressive approach with hands working through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent contact as he works to keep hands inside the ball utilizing all fields. Power numbers will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. At the event, he was 2 for 8. Mental makeup continues to show as a plus tool as he plays with high energy and is very coachable.

02/15/2015 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL David is a young (2018 grad) 2-way player as a 2B/S. At 2B, he shows quick/active footwork as he moves around the GB efficiently. He works low, from the ground-up and fields the ball with athletic actions. Ball is quick from glove to hand as he gets rid of it to 1B. Working more on the balls of his feet will help to increase lateral range. Behind the plate, David sits in well and tracks the ball into his mitt. He has a clean exchange on throws down to 2B with pop times as low as 2.30. Getting on a long toss program and working to stay on-top of his throws will help him to develop his skills behind the dish. With the bat, this RHH displays an open stance with quiet actions. Swing is level on a direct path to and through the zone. He squares the ball up and hits line-drives consistently. Working to shorten his stride will allow for increased torque from his lower 1/2 resulting in more power. David has skills and has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
