08/02/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) David is a projectable (6'1"/165) 2-way player (OF/RHP) who showed well during his time at Pirate City. With the bat, this RHH displays a tall/athletic setup with centered balance. Quick/loose hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he engages his lower 1/2 well and drives the ball on a line (going 4 for 8 with 3 singles and a triple). In the OF, he has active prep with a quick first step tracking down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands, has a clean transfer and fires accurate throws into his target. On the mound, David throws a FB & CB from an over-the-top arm slot and loose/free arm action. He gets good glove-side lead and drives downhill toward the dish. FB still sits in the upper 70's showing good movement (run & sink). Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with tight spin and good depth. He attacks the zone and mixes his pitches well. Sykora is a coachable player who can make adjustments quickly. He is a skilled 2-way prospect who has upside as he enters his senior year.
