07/08/2020 - All-In Membership - Trenton, NJ David is a hard working catcher who continues to progress. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He moves well laterally and works to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws to 2B are accurate with pop times now as low as 2.12. At the plate, he displays an open stance with some rhythm to load. He stays connected, swings on-plane and hits the ball where it's pitched, spraying it to all parts of the field. Working to create a little more extension through contact will help aid in increasing his power. David has tools with still time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

04/28/2019 - College PREP - Manalapan, NJ David is an athletic C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, David shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and makes accurate, on-line throws to 2B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and works to barrel up the baseball, spraying to all fields. Overall, David is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ David continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup with balance. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Behind the plate, feet work in line to his target through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.31. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process but will benefit by working to get his body down sooner.

07/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ David is a C/SS who will graduate in 2021. Defensively behind the plate, he displays a low/athletic setup with fluid footwork. He receives pitches with soft hands, has a clean transfer and fires throws accurately down to 2B. At SS, he takes active angles as he works into a square fielding position on GB's. He turns smooth DP's with a soft glove and fires on line throws to his target. With the bat, David has fluid rhythm and uses a middle of the field approach. He swings on a short/level path through the zone and drives pitches with hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
