At the plate, David displays an athletic setup, solid load, and short stride. He makes consistent contact and uses all fields. His swing path is short and he is a line drive type hitter. Defensively, he shows fluid / active foot work and gets behind and plays through balls. He needs to work to quicken his exchange and increase his arm strength. David has potential and will improve through hard work.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
