01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Davin is a hard working and talented 2-way prospect. In the OF, Davin has an active prep step and makes strong throws to the bases. Continuing to read balls off the bat and creating angles will allow him to have more consistent routes to the ball. At the plate, Davin has a simple stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He stays balanced through contact and is a line drive hitter. Creating rhythm pre pitch and getting his front foot down on time will allow him to recognize pitches. On the bump, Davin gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and keeps his eyes on target. Continuing to have a strong glove side and finishing over the front side will allow him to work the bottom half of the zone. Davin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/21/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Davin is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the OF, Davin shows quick footwork and plus range as he covers a lot of ground. He gets into and athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick exchange and quick release on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square, athletic stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing path with explosive bat speed which leads to hard contact and line drives. On the mound, Davin has a balanced, repeatable delivery and works downhill to the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with good arm side tail and sinking action. Breaking ball ranges from 58-64mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Davin is an athletic, young prospect who has the potential to become a special player.

01/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Davin is an athletic, 2-way player at RHP/OF. In the OF, he takes a prep step as he works into a low/athletic fielding position. He takes quick angles as he tracks down fly balls and makes accurate throws to his target. On the mound, this righty delivers with a loose action from a Hi 3/4 arm slot. He throws a 3-pitch mix with a CB that has a sharp 11-5 break and a CH that deceives hitters. With the bat, Davin presents a tall setup in the box. He stays balanced through contact as he sprays pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Soft hands
3. Quicker exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Stronger frontside
2. Long toss
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
