08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Davion is a tall and athletic 2019 3B prospect that acted like a professional and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At the hot corner, Davion is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and anticipates the ball off the bat. He funnels the ball into his body and has a clean exchange. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Davion starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back, and has a good approach. He stays balanced thru contact and hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, and create backside rotation to have good direction to the ball. Davion has a high baseball IQ and works hard. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Davion continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (93 mph velocity) on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. Mental makeup may be his best tool as he plays the game the right way.

01/21/2018 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Davion is an athletic and thin 2019 3B prospect. At the hot corner, Davion has an active prep step and creates angles to the ball. He works side to side and plays through the backhand. Continuing to present a low/early glove and working from the ground up will allow Davion to make the routine play more consistently. At the plate, Davion starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. His barrel stays on plane with the ball and he uses his lower half. Davion will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
