08/03/2014 - College PREP - Dublin (Columbus), OH Davis continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He improved his foot speed at the event as he ran his best 60 time to date, at 7.22. In the OF, defensive grade has improved as well, now showing well above average skills, displaying clean / smooth actions. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in tracking down balls as he reads well off the bat and takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by working to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and has some strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Davis continues to progress in his game. He is an athlete who works hard on the field. In the OF, he takes good routes and works behind the fly ball well. He plays through the ball and makes accurate throws toward his target. Offensively, this left-handed swinger tracks the ball into the zone, waiting for his pitch. He uses his lower 1/2 well and drives the ball to all fields. On the bump, Robeson remains balanced and works in-line and downhill toward the dish. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all of his pitches, allowing his defense to work. Davis has made improvements and will continue to do so over the next couple of years.

02/24/2013 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Davis is a solid athletic OF/LHP that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 75-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a solid feel for with slight arm side run. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In OF, foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.29 60 time. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to play through balls more to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, Robeson shows a balanced approach with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side as he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields and improving hitting grade. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 2 years to further develop, Davis has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
