When throwing, Dawson gains ground well, gets rid of the ball quickly, and delivers it accurately to 2nd base. A wider base, improved angles when blocking, and added arm strength all will help Dawson improve as he continues to grow and mature. On the mound, Dawson repeats his delivery and has good glove side lead. He keeps his eyes to his target, has good direction, and he keeps consistent arm speed with his pitches. More backside, follow through, and lower 1/2 explosion will help numbers on the mound improve. At the plate, Dawson has good balance and a good set-up. He is a contact hitter, with a line drive approach that can work the ball to all fields. Hitting can get better if Dawson can let the ball travel deeper, keep his hips closed, and use more lower 1/2.
