At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he builds overall strength. On the mound, he shows a long, loose, and live arm. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball shows a range of 56-60 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
