11/26/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Shreveport, LA Dax is a solid, 2-way player as a 3B/C. Defensively behind the plate, he shows a quiet body as he tracks pitches into his mitt. He tries to catch around the ball framing the zone and works hard to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. At 3B, he presents his hands and works into a square fielding position on GB's. He gives accurate double play feeds and has a quick release on his throws. With the stick, Dax displays a square setup with smooth rhythm to load. He stays balanced as he whips his barrel on-plane through the zone and consistently drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Clean exchange to throw
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Catching
1. Quick footwork
2. Low setup
3. Develop soft hands
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Finish swing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
