Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Dax is a C/RHP prospect in the class of 2026. Behind the plate, he shows a good ability to gain ground on his throw downs. Shows good footwork both when blocking and when throwing down. Shows good lateral movements and protects the 5 hole well when blocking. At the plate, he shows good balance in his swing and the ability to get extension through the baseball. Shows off a middle approach and a quiet head. On the mound, he does a great job of keeping his eyes on the target and having a consistent delivery. Throws all pitches from a low ¾ arm slot and with the same arm speed. Dax is a bright young prospect that has years to continue to develop.

01/17/2022 - All-In Membership - Sonoma, CA Dax is a C/RHP out of Benicia, CA in the class of 2026. Behind the dish, he showed great pocket awareness by sticking tough pitches around the zone. He keeps his chest towards the ground when blocking to deaden the baseball in front of him. He is quick to recover after blocking to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he uses a square set up with good balance and quick hands to work the ball to all fields in his approach. On the mound, he worked a 3 pitch mix of fastball, breaking ball and change up. His fastball topped out at 57 mph while his off speed showed good break and deception. With 3+ years of development we believe Dax can put improve his game to work towards the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
