09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Declan continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities. At 3B, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft and presents out front. He utilizes his foot speed well in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap power. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Declan improved his foot speed at the National World Series as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.35 runner. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/08/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Wappinger Falls, NY Declan is a SS/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. At SS, Declan shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. In the OF, Declan shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Declan build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and works through a direct swing, spraying line drives to all fields. Declan can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. Overall, Declan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Declan is a SS that graduates in the class of 2024 who showcased his abilities at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. At SS, he had effective footwork that allowed him to showcase range to both glove side and back hand. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and had an arm velocity up to 76mph. Declan had carry and good accuracy on his throws across the infield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a tall/open stance. He had a short but effective load that was on-time. In live games he reached base twice with a single and drew a walk. Declan showed that he was a hard worker and team player throughout the entirety of the event. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Declan continues to show improvement in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall, narrow setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. He does a nice job of getting out of the box and gets down the line fast. At the event, he was 4 for 8. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Declan is a SS prospect who showcased his skills at the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Declan shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate, on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance with center balance. He drives through well with his lower half and takes a level swing, producing solid contact to all fields. With four more years to develop, Declan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Declan continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / clean and but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. At the event he was 2 for 3 with 3 BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

09/01/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Hooksett, NH Declan is a SS/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. At SS, Declan fields the ball out in front of his body and makes accurate throws with carry through his target. In the OF, Declan shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He makes consistent contact and produces solid line drives into the gaps. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
