Official Scouting Report

  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Delsyn continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate is where he continues to show best through a squared setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball shows a range of 55-56 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/07/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Delsyn is a 1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a short swing with good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact and line drives. Continuing to add strength can help Delsyn improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Delsyn has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/19/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Delsyn is a 1B/RHP prospect who continues to work hard on his skills on the field. On the mound, Delsyn gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Delsyn shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 57mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 47-48mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 53-55mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Consistently driving his lower half through can help Delsyn improve as a pitcher. With six more years to develop, Delsyn has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

08/09/2019 - Baseball Factory Advanced Analytics & Pro Training Experience (Ages 12-14) Delsyn is a coachable 1B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Analytics Training Weekend. Delsyn shows great effort in his athletic testing and runs his 60 in 10.19 seconds. Improving his run form can help Delsyn improve athletically. At the plate, this RHH creates great leverage and drives the baseball well. Working on his contact points can help Delsyn improve as a hitter. In the field, Delsyn makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Taking a more efficient first step can help Delsyn improve defensively. With six more years to develop, Delsyn has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Virginia Beach, VA Delsyn is thin, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1st base. On the mound, Delsyn has good balance over the rubber, he separates his hands on time, and lands with good direction toward home plate. His FB touches 58 MPH, and he mixes in his off-speed well. Defensively, Delsyn moves well to the baseball and shows the ability to pick it out of the dirt. He keeps the ball in front of his body and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Delsyn has a square stance, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has good hand separation, decent bat speed, and he hits line drives. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
