01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Demetri's wheels jump off the page as he busts it out of the box and swipes bags at will. Head is quiet at the plate with a middle approach to hit the ball where it's pitched. Bat whips through to make line drive contact for base knocks, and he wreaks havoc on the base paths. Actions are fluid at the hot corner with agile lateral movement and the angles to snare hard hit balls. He goes to the backhand well and easily makes the long throw with plenty of carry across the diamond. His speed an athleticism is a huge asset at the top of any lineup.

07/20/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Demetri continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.84. At 3B, Demetri displays smooth, fluid actions. He moves well laterally, displaying range and works through a low to high approach, playing through the ball well. Hands are soft and clean as he makes the routine plays. Arm strength has improved, (88 mph velocity) with throws showing accuracy and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he shows an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path as he makes consistent contact, staying inside the ball well, utilizing all fields. He shows a feel for the barrel and shows gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 2 years to further develop, Demetri has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Demetri is a hardworking, very coachable player who makes adjustments to be the best player he can be. He is a team player who plays with high energy. At 3B, he is a smooth / fluid fielder with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he plays through balls and presents glove well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has strength in his swing and shows good barrel accuracy as he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hands are loose and work through the baseball but will benefit by getting stride foot down sooner to work on time. On the bases, he is smart and will take the extra base. A 2018 graduate, Demetri has potential with time / room to continue to develop and will be a fun player to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
