Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

05/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Gambrills, MD Demetri worked out at 3B and on the mound during his last workout with the Factory. He currently projects best in the INF and at the plate Defensively, Demetri has good hands, aggressive actions, and he fields in a low position. He presents his glove well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a very good arm action with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Demetri works in good tempo, he keeps his eyes on target, and has good direction toward home plate. He has a controlled landing and competes in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Demetri is a solid hitter, he has a balanced approach, and fast bat speed. He swings in good rhythm, makes hard/consistent contact, and has pop in his bat. Demetri can continue to get better with work on the following.

1. Quicken feet
2. Long toss
1. Finish
2. Extension
1. Level off swing
2. Let ball travel

03/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Demetri is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Demetri shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Demetri has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Breaking ball sits from 54-56mph with sudden 10-4 break. Changeup ranges from 46-48mph. In the field, Demetri fields the ball with soft hands and makes the routine plays. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing to the ball. He makes square contact and drives the ball to his pull side. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

1. Lower 1/2
2. Quicker arm speed
3. Work downhill
1. Range
2. Lower fielding position
3. Long toss
1. Center balance
2. Lower 1/2
3. Shorter swing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
